Evaporation is carried out from a heated wipe film. Due to the pressure drop between the vaporization position and the vacuum system, the operating pressure in a typical wiped film evaporator with an external condenser is limited to a few millibars. The pressure in the short path evaporator is obtained by a short distance of steam from the evaporator surface to the condenser. In addition, the cross-sectional area of ​​the flow is equal to the surface of the evaporator, so there is only a small pressure drop between the evaporator and the condenser - the absolutely necessary detail of this process!
