20l short path distillation kit is a device for distillation method operated under high vacuum. Its working principle is: the driving force of steam flow is the pressure difference between the boiling film and the condensation surface, and a small pressure drop will cause the flow of steam. Operating at a pressure of 1 mbar and requiring a very short distance between the boiling surface and the condensing surface, a distiller based on this principle is called a short-path distillation. The 20l short path distillation kit has a built-in condenser opposite the heating surface which reduces the operating pressure to 0.001 mbar.

1. Ordinary distillation has bubbling and boiling; the molecular distillation process is free evaporation on the surface of the liquid layer, without bubbling.

2. The ordinary distillation is separated at the boiling temperature, and the 20l short path distillation kit can be carried out at any temperature. As long as there is a temperature difference between the hot and cold sides, the separation point can be achieved.

3. The separation factor indicating the ordinary distillation separation ability is related to the vapor pressure ratio of the component, and the separation factor indicating the molecular distillation separation ability is related to the vapor pressure and the molecular weight ratio of the component and can be obtained from the relative evaporation speed.

4. Ordinary distillation is a reversible process of evaporation and condensation. A phase equilibrium state can be formed between the liquid phase and the gas phase. In the molecular distillation process, molecules that escape from the evaporation surface directly fly to the condensation surface without colliding with other molecules in the middle. In theory, there is no possibility of returning to the evaporation surface, so the molecular distillation process is irreversible.
